Epiphora (from Greek epiphérō, "port in addition"), also called epistrophe (from Greek
epistrophē, "turning, conversion") is a rhetorical figure of orders consisting of repeating the same word or words or of equal meaning at the end of each successive sentence or verse, to reinforce a concept.
Concepts like layers of information, energy, direction and complexity came up during the
exploration and creation of the piece. The interaction between music and dance makes us
question the barriers between each discipline, in our approach while composing.
How to create a structure based on this interaction?
How does it change the perception of the piece, which elements will be highlighted that in a
separated context will remain in the back?
Movement as the start of the music, music as the start of the movement.
Inspired by the reiteration of concepts, language, or gestures. We investigated the
complexity within the meaning of the loop. Not only as repetition but also as repair,
prevention or auspicious event.
The music, in a duality of dialogue with the movement that the musician determines to create
the sound, meets and collides with the dancing body on stage.
Through overlapping levels between music, musicians movement and dance, we’re
exploring the borders until collapsing.
