Holidays in Paradise

HOLIDAY IN PARADISE uses technology, innovative sound design, and physical/visual communication for both the performers and the audience to build a language bridge between those who can hear and those who are hearing-impaired. The idea is to invite those who can hear to the world of the hearing-impaired and DEAF Plus. The design elements allow those who can hear to take part in the world of the hearing-impaired and DEAF Plus; hearing-impaired performers have also created their own language especially for the performance.

The performance addresses questions about what happens when we are at a loss for words. Developing different forms of communication to express feelings and emotions is a unique possibility for the DEAF Plus community.

A production of Circus of Knowledge in collaboration with JKU Medizinische Fakultät – Forschungsinstitut für Entwicklungsmedizin, Institut für Sinnes- und Sprachneurologie of Barmherzige Brüder Linz/Lebenswelt Pinsdorf, Schenkenfelden & Wallsee.

In May 2025, we presented the first developed segments from the piece in a preview. In this context, a contribution was made on Radio FRO and a trailer was created.
