HAUNTED LANDSCAPE on an unseen wasteland
a series of urban interventions

a 2500m2 leftover space in the middle of the city, framed by railway tracks and roads, marked by what surrounds it, such as the facades of hotels, offices, the main railway station, seemingly without function. overgrown with grasses, flowers and thistles, the square will become the venue for HAUNTED LANDSCAPE on an unseen wasteland.

from the end of august, claudia bosse declares the place an urban laboratory and will gradually transform it. with visual, performative and acoustic interventions, mostly at dusk, this place will be temporarily activated: on 31 august at dawn, the composer günther auer will acoustically survey it with a concert. from the beginning of september, claudia bosse and participants of the public performance school PPS will performatively conquer the terrain over 10 days. on 3 evenings, performative interventions will be created from this, which will be presented at dusk on 5, 8 and 10 september. on 8 and 10 september, the performative interventions of HAUNTED LANDSCAPE on an unseen wasteland will be set to the sounds of musician katharina ernst and her drum set.

the series haunted landscape/s centres on endangered landscapes and their myths, narratives and experiences. it is about our planet, how we understand it and live with it. it is about enormous transformations of environments and their global effects. it is about wounded or poisoned landscapes, their healing, about the traces of the ghosts and monsters that inhabit them and their influence on the surrounding communities of human and non-human actors.

following HAUNTED LANDSCAPE on an unseen wasteland, further interventions by the urban laboratory on haunted landscape/s will take place on the area between karl-popper-straße and alfred-adler-straße in the 10th district until september 2025.
